From the theatre, music and opera to dance, musicals and the ballet, Australia’s performing arts is a vibrant scene of artistic endeavour. Across Australia and internationally, Australia’s culture is celebrated and enjoyed for its creativity, innovation and excellence.
In addition to presenting shows and concerts in capital cities, AMPAG companies regularly tour to regional areas, reaching audiences in the hundreds of thousands as well as over 700,000 school students each year through education programs.
Several companies regularly tour overseas, and all are committed to developing the talents of Australian artists – writers, directors, actors, musicians, singers and technical and design staff – through artist development programs and commissioning new work.
On the International Stage
The world applauds our performing arts talent. For a very brief highlight of companies performing around the world in 2008, see the International page.
